The CEI/UC glaucoma fellowship will provide exposure to a broad range of pathology in addition to high levels of surgical complexity. The CEI/UC glaucoma fellowship will provide exposure to a broad range of pathology that encompasses a high level of clinical and surgical complexity. Our glaucoma surgeons provide a high volume and variety of experience in cataract surgery, MIGS, tube shunts, trabeculectomies and surgical revisions.
The fellow will gain experience with Kahook Dual Blade, Trabectome, TrabEx, iStent Inject, Hydrus, Omni, ECP, Xen, Ahmed valves, and Clearpath and Baerveldt tube shunts. We are a national referral center for aniridia and severe ocular surface disease (e.g. chemical burns) which provides the fellow with unique experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with stem cell transplants and keratoprostheses. The experience is enhanced by a weekly fellow clinic and exposure to clinical trials. Our affiliation with the University of Cincinnati allows for opportunities for teaching and interaction with other fellows and residents. In addition, our collegial atmosphere and dedication to education fosters an ideal environment for fellowship training.
