Get to Know Dr. Kuhlman

Brian K. Kuhlman, O.D. joined Cincinnati Eye Institute (CEI) 2004 to provide Optometric services and to assist in the Glaucoma Clinic, working closely with Anup Khatana, MD. He received his Doctoral Degree from the Ohio State University in 2003, where he also worked on his undergraduate education. During his training, Dr. Kuhlman completed his Externship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Upon graduation, he completed a 13 month post-Doctoral Residency at CEI, focusing on the management of ocular disease.

Dr. Kuhlman is certified by the International Board of Optometric Examiners in the treatment and management of ocular disease. He has served as a Professor of Clinical Optometry at the Ohio State University College of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association and Cincinnati Optometric Association where he serves on the board. Dr. Kuhlman was previously awarded the top educational poster at the East/West Eye Conference. He is currently involved in several clinical research trials at CEI. Dr. Kuhlman is actively involved in training optometry residents at CEI.

He is active in the community, having given various presentations on the importance of eye health to local elementary schools and volunteering his time performing vision screenings. He enjoys giving continuing education lectures to fellow optometrists. When not at CEI, Dr. Kuhlman sees patients at his private office in Montgomery. He has a special interest in complex contact lens fitting including scleral lenses. Dr. Kuhlman lives in Symmes Township with his wife and 3 children.
